On March 19, 2018, Dubai witnessed an unforgettable evening of artistic brilliance as ArtUAE hosted the Art of Zayed exhibition at the Shangri-La Hotel in honor of the ‘Year of Zayed’, marking 100 years since the birth of the UAE’s late founding father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. Inaugurated by Sheikha Dr. Hind Al Qassimi and organized by Sathar Al Karan, proprietor of ArtUAE, in collaboration with Colors of Peace and Ambassador Aurela Cuku, founder of Global Agency MENA, the event brought together leading UAE artists and distinguished guests to celebrate Sheikh Zayed’s legacy of unity, culture, and progress.

The exhibition showcased an inspiring blend of innovation and heritage, with highlights including intricate paintings and crafts fashioned on UAE coins, reflecting the nation’s traditions. Among the standout artists was Latifa Ibrahim Ahmed, who shared her passion for art, inspired by her travels since 2005, and her vision to open a gallery in the UAE while providing art courses for children. Another highlight was Abdul Rauf, who introduced his innovative “Coins of the World” project and rotating paintings, a groundbreaking concept offering four unique dimensions in one frame, underscoring his ambition to merge art with technology at Expo 2020 Dubai.

Adding an international flair, Turkish artist Ahmed Cinar displayed spectacular themed artisan carpets that captivated attendees. The event, attended by senior dignitaries, VIPs, and art enthusiasts, served as a poignant celebration of Sheikh Zayed’s enduring contributions to the UAE and beyond, with ArtUAE demonstrating the power of art to bridge cultures, preserve traditions, and inspire the future.
