On June 8, 2018, ArtUAE hosted the captivating AYAAT Ramadan Art Exhibition at the Shangri-La Dubai, offering an evening where art and spirituality intertwined in honor of the UAE’s cultural heritage. Conceptualized by Sathar Al Karan, founder of ArtUAE, and curated by the renowned interior designer and calligrapher Narjes Noureddin, the exhibition beautifully celebrated the holy month of Ramadan while paying homage to the poetic legacy of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
Narjes Noureddin, who recently collaborated with a team from the Royal Opera House London, brought a distinctive creative vision to the exhibition. Her joint project, an opera performance inspired by Sheikh Zayed’s poetry and her calligraphy paintings, set the tone for this profound showcase. At AYAAT, her calligraphic masterpieces illuminated Sheikh Zayed’s timeless verses, bridging the gap between traditional art forms and modern storytelling.
The event drew a distinguished audience, including members of the Dubai Land Department, such as Majid Al Marri and Sheikha Mutawa, alongside other dignitaries and art enthusiasts. The serene ambiance of the evening, paired with the elegance of Islamic art, reflected the essence of Ramadan—unity, reflection, and inspiration.
As ArtUAE continues to champion the UAE’s artistic heritage, AYAAT stood as a testament to the profound influence of Sheikh Zayed’s words and the innovative spirit of contemporary Emirati artists, leaving an indelible mark on Dubai’s vibrant cultural scene.
